I don't have much to say other than those clouds and grass took ages to draw. Also I did this on the MACBook, meaning photoshop CS. I've been able to get a few chances to get on, so I was lucky to be able to get this done!
OH AND I was wondering if you guys could tell me how I could fix her shading? Only if you think there should be something fixed, I myself am not that happy with it.
Also tell me what you think of the background!

Well I guess how I make my backgrounds is just with some imagination...
(this won't be helpful---> ) And with Gimp 2.6, you probably could. I actually don't know, nor have seen gimp before, but if it's a photoshop thing anything is possible. 
For this drawing I didn't even really use pre made brushes, like I mean I drew the clouds and grass, so like I said it's probably possible for you to do the same! So yeah you should be able to do watch ever you like in Gimp. Well a simple way to do grass is just do lines, simple lines sort of like 
||||||| but more curved. 
And then random lines over those lines+different shades of green. But that takes awhile to do a big area...
