Who am I? by Flaming-Sunset Who am I? by Flaming-Sunset
Who am I? I am lost and I am found. I hate and I love. I don't know what side is mine, I am out of balance. And my world is gone...
EDIT:5/5/09
Okay last update I promise, okay be careful not to fave if you already have! ;)

Okay I redid her coat so make it look not so messy and I put the Yin and Yang symbol in front, tell me how it looks! Thanks for the help too!

:dance::icongrindanceplz: Contest Entry! :icongrindanceplz: :dance:
About this Piece:
Here is where I have illustrated a good and bad side within one creature. And she can't find out what she is. Is she good or bad? Can she love someone or will she destroy them with her hate.... So she's having a battle with herself that she can't win.

Hey peeps!
Well, you all have convinced me... so here is my entry to the good vs evil-bring your vision to life contest! :w00t: SO how does it look? Better or worse? I tried a bit of a different shading style, which may or may not have been a good idea.. But anyway, if you see something that should be fixed please let me know. :D In a moment I'll upload a part from this drawing that I love. More comments are welcome! :aww:

What??? :?

:iconsaywhaplz: doing what?!?!?!

I just said that Faves that are related to the winners will ONLY count in that specific date... So, If I fave it now and it gets chosen I wouldn't actually be able to vote for it then. :D

ohhhh, I got it, you think they may think you're cheating with the number of faves because you're updating it? Nah, I don't think so... I mean, an obvious cheater would have like, 3,000 faves from plz and strange new accounts with only 1 fave on them...THAT would be cheating, but I don't think you're doing any harm by just updating it. :D :phew:, long comment again... :XD:

Hey, look what I found on the rules:

An additional winner will be chosen as the Community Choice Winner as follows: from the entries found in the contest category as of 12:00:00 AM (PT) May 29,2009, the otherwise qualifying entry that recieves the most "Favorites" between 12:00:00 AM (PT) May 29, 2009 and 11:59:59 PM (PT) June 4, 2009 (the "Voting Period".) "Favorites" are determined by using the tools provided on deviantART for marking a submitted Work as a "Favorite". The tool appears on the deviation page for the Work in the left hand navigation bar immediately adjacent to the Work and designated by an image. Entrants are encouraged to promote their respective designs within deviantART during the Voting Period, but any attempt to create false "Favorites" or to use in any way accounts which are not genuine for the purpose of generating "Favorites" will result in disqualification. Entrants are reminded that "Favorites" can be removed by the account that innitiates the "Favorite." The counting of "Favorites" will be non-cumulative and will occur once at the close of the Voting Period. In the event that the entry receiving the most "Favorites" at the end of the Voting Period is disqualified under these rules, the qualifying entry with the next highest number of "Favorites" will be selected as the winner.

I don't think I should fave your piece then... at least until the official contest voting period begins...

Having the yin-yang symbol in the front flattens the image a bit. To make it more dynamic, you could try leaving the yin-yang layer where it is, but erasing the part that's covering her head (thus making it look like her head has gone through part of the symbol, almost as if it were a window and she were looking out). That way, the yin-yang can be better incorporated without having it hidden in the background or obscuring that beautiful face.

It's getting better with every update, though. I love how smooth the colouring is on her muzzle. =D

Thanks! :D It is supposed to be a Yin and Yang symbol but when I put it in front of the horse you couldn't really see the detail... so may be I'll make it smaller or something and push it over to the side of the picture...:hmm:

You Outdid yourself here! wow, I didn't expect it to look like this, this is like a hundred times better than I ever thought the Yin Yang concept would turn out. :D

You should enter it, I would correct a little bit of shadow's body, the part where it's coming out... make it dimmer, perhaps?

I really like it, EVERYTHING, the mane and the EYE, specially the EYE! :D it's just so :iconwooooplz:

and who knows, perhaps emotional pieces are what judges are looking for.

oh, one last thing: if you DO submit it as an entry remember that you can't add any personal signatures (it's in the contest rules)...

:iconimthinkingplz: but I still think the part of the body coming out should be a little bit dimmer.

I really like where this is going, and actually prefer it to the other black/white picture. It could use a little more detail (specifically on the lit areas), but it isn't bad at its current state. You said that it was an emotional piece, so maybe the atmosphere could be strengthened by having the horse emerge from a black background (as opposed to the half-grey, half-black background seen here). On a smaller, more nitpicky note, the eye looks a bit small. It has a gorgeous shape, though. =)

I'm a sucker for high-contrast pieces; they are always so visually dramatic, regardless of the subject matter. x3

Ahh I see what you mean, may be make the background have more depth.:D And I see what you mean about the eye, on the reference it was tough to see what the eye looked like, like a strange angle...:hmm: But I'll try to get more detail in and work on that eye. :D May be if I don't rush I can make the coat have a bit more of a "fur" look to it. :D

Thanks, you were very helpful!!:iconsuperglompplz:

Yeah, I noticed how the eye was in shadow in the reference. You wouldn't have to change anything about the eye you've drawn, though, other than increasing its dimensions by four to five pixels.

Any time! I'm really enjoying seeing your work improve with every piece that you submit. =)
